for real life.

hello!

You’re here!!! In the vast disco ball-filled sea of wedding photographers, you’ve made it to my website and I’m glad for it.

I’ll do my best to keep this short: I love weddings, and I love photography. I want to create real photos that remind you of every big and little emotion you felt on the actual day. I want you to feel comfortable and will allow you the freedom to actually enjoy and have fun at your wedding (that you’ve spent so long planning for!) as I flit around in the background documenting all of the sweet, silly, sad, sentimental, and strange moments and people with the utmost care and creativity. This isn’t a photo shoot, this is your wedding day. I also know that there are about 5 million feelings and complex relationships and dynamics wrapped up in a wedding day, and I’ll be there to guide, reassure, and encourage you with my 12 years of experience as a professional wedding guest to help.

So get cozy, wander around my wiggly website for a bit, and let me know if anything grabs your attention: I would love to photograph you with the ones you love the most.

when in doubt, dance it out

and don’t forget: the best moments are unposed.

wanna see the goods?

but caitlin, why youuu?

There are countless talented photographers out there — I’m equally intimidated and inspired by them on a daily basis — so I’m incredibly honored that you’ve made your way to my lil website. But what makes me so special?

knowledge is power!

I’ve been photographing weddings since 2012 and have picked up lots of tips + tricks along the way, some of which you can find here! Anytime you have a question or curiosity or concern during the planning process, I’m more than happy to help.

empathy is key!

Being professionally photographed can be a weirdly intimate thing, so my main goal is to make sure you’re comfortable, having fun, and actually experiencing this very real day in your life while I photograph whatevertheheck happens—the good, the weird, and the wonderful.

a boy scout is always prepared!

Thanks to anxiety, I roll up to your wedding fully equipped with professional gear, backups on backups on backups (I once brought 23 batteries to a 10 hour wedding which tbh is too many), a Polaroid or disposable film camera (or two), and a fanny pack full of safety pins, hair ties, fashion tape, and a Tide pen.

(I’m having flashbacks to the 4th grade musical, a royalty-free mimicry of Annie, in which I chirped in my little kid voice to dozens of parents, “I’ve gotta million dollar smile and my dimples stretch a miiile! With my blue eeeeyes, I win the priiiize, chooooose meeee!”)

“An angel with a camera; Caitlin is a dream. From the time she arrived to the beginning moments of our wedding, right away she was comfortable with everyone. She brings an ease which allows people to be calm and we honestly forgot she was there, snapping away. There were many moments where she would check in and make sure everyone was good, the energy was so sweet. The work Caitlin does captures the warmth and light of a love event. We will treasure the photos forever. Highly, highly recommend her!”

“You have made those memories unshakable and absolute. You have made it so that every photo of that day is imbued with a little happiness magic. Thank you, Caitlin, from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for having the eye to see a great photo and, more so, for having the heart to recognize a great moment. Thank you for working tirelessly on the requests of photos for groups of strangers. Thank you for ringing in 2020 with us. Thank you for being you.”

gotta q or two?

This might actually be your first rodeo, so you probably have a few questions about the whole process.

Send me a message through my contact form to check my specific availability and we’ll set up a time to meet virtually or irl. When you’re ready to book I’ll send over a contract and invoice for the non refundable 25% retainer to secure your date!

My elopement + mini wedding packages include 2-4 hours of coverage for $1200-2400; full wedding days include 6-10 hours of coverage for $4200-$7200; and portrait or engagement sessions start at 3 hours for $900 (a few packages include a complimentary engagement session).

Each session, elopement, and wedding is customizable to meet your needs and includes your professionally edited images delivery digitally, a gallery print credit, and some casual, supplementary 35mm film or Polaroids throughout the day.

If you’re especially drawn to my loose, candid style but my rates are a little outside of your budget, please still reach out! We can possibly find a way to make it work. Reach out through my contact form to receive my full pricing guide.

As of 2024 I left the corporate world (woo!) and have much more availability for weddings. I typically book dates up to 9-18 months ahead of time but have been known to jump on a wedding with 2 weeks’ notice, so just ask!

For elopements or more intimate ceremonies these are often booked within a few weeks or months of the date, and can take place on a weekend or weekday which allows for greater schedule flexibility on my end.

Yes! Since my first wedding in 2012 I’ve zipped across the country many, many times to photograph weddings. I’m based in NYC and most weddings that require air travel will include a flat travel fee of $1500, dependent on the schedule of events. Local-ish NYC weddings that are 1+ hour driving may include a small travel fee to cover gas and/or lodgings.

I average a minimum of 75 images per hour of consecutive coverage so a 6 hour wedding can expect 450 or more edited images in their final gallery, whereas a 10 hour wedding will be 750 or more. When I bring along a second photographer this number is closer to 100 images per hour.

Yes! In the week following your wedding I’ll send you some previews, with the full digital gallery arriving in your inbox 8-10 weeks after your wedding date. From the gallery you and your loved ones can order prints, or you can download them to print elsewhere. This gallery is available for 1 year from your wedding date, at which point I safely archive everything on my end.

I spend 90% of the wedding day working in a documentary style, so I try not to focus on creating photos that will get the most likes on Instagram or replicating an inauthentic Pinterest photo. I offer simple, light direction but we’re not gonna do a lot of awkward, performative, or stiff posing, because I want you to actually live out and experience this very special day while I do what I do best and snap away.

for planning:

I’ve been photographing weddings for more than a decade and have compiled these free guides with lots of tips and tricks I’ve picked up along the way.

What makes for a good location? When should we do the engagement session? Do we have to be engaged? What will we wear?!

What if we’re nervous? Do we need a schedule? What about a family photos? What’s a first look? How do we get cool light?
